Grace and Peace!
Today’s positive thought: Fire up your Faith! Have you ever felt like you were having a dry spell in your faith? God is so awesome and amazing that He wants nothing more than for you to have the best life possible. Jesus said in John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." He loves us so much that he wants to guide us through a joyous life. Faith in God is marvelous because God is reliable. Faith releases the blessing of God and it brings God on the scene.
However, you must have faith in God and believe that he loves you and is always watching over you. This can be tough to do when there is no tangible sight of God to hold onto (key word here is sight!). It's here that faith in God comes in and we must believe with our whole heart that He is there and diligently working and helping us through all the good and bad times in our life.
God does not require that you get yourself together first. Many people desire to be closer to God, but feel they can fix themselves. Matthew 11:28-30 28 “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”.
“The definition of faith is: belief or trust: belief in, devotion to, or trust in somebody or something or the group of people who adhere to trust in God; belief in and devotion to God” Some synonyms are: confidence, trust, reliance, conviction, belief and assurance.
To have faith is to believe in something or someone; to fully trust; to be so confident that you base your actions on what you believe. To have faith is to be fully convinced of the truthfulness and reliability of that in which you believe. Faith in God then, is having the kind of trust and confidence in God and in Christ that leads you to commit your whole soul to Him as Savior, Justifier, Cleanser, Healer, Deliverer, Lord, Master and King. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith is a spiritual substance. When you have this spiritual substance in you, it communicates to you a certain inner knowing that the thing you are hoping for is certainly established, even before you see any material evidence that it has happened. Faith is a spiritual force! Faith in God is a response to God’s Word which moves God to act. Jesus said in Mark 11:23, “For assuredly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he
will have whatever he says.”
Words mixed with real, pure faith can and will move mountains or any other problem that we face. Faith in God must be from the heart, it’s not merely intellectual and it is spiritual. Romans 10:10 “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Faith causes you to know in your heart before you see with your eyes. II Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
No matter how bleak things may seem, if you get discouraged, know that there is always hope. Hold tight to your dreams, your goals and your faith. There will always be trying circumstances in this life, but you must embrace every blessing and embrace every battle. Things will arise in this journey called life that will try to challenge your understanding and your character. Knowing and believing that God wants only the best for you should give you joy deep down in your heart and confidence that things will get better. No matter what happens you can and will make it through, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Surround yourself with positive people; people who will uplift you and support you in your efforts; pray for you and with you; encourage you and see the best in you, when you sometimes can’t see it in yourself. Always remember to hold on tight to your essence, your being, what makes you who you are; because that is irreplaceable. I Corinthians 2:5 “That your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God”.
Study your Bible to understand God's ways. Pray for illumination of His word. God's words, support, and love come through in the Bible and can help you when you are having times of fear and doubt. Remember that fear and faith are the total opposite. God wants us to walk in faith, faith in Jesus and faith in His promises to us. He wants to be involved in your daily living. Nothing is too large or too small for Him to get involved with for you. He loves you just that much! Let Him walk with you daily. I am at point in life whereas I can’t make a move without consulting Him.
The Bible is full of scriptures that offer piece of mind in our daily walk and relationships. Just about anything in the Bible can be related to your own life if you pay attention to the goodness you read. II Peter 1:4 “By which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.”
Here is an example, in the passage of Leviticus 19:17-19, God says, "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD". He explains that loving others as you love yourself is the way to be a good Christian. You can take this scripture and use it in your life to treat people as you would want to be treated and your life will be great, as will the life of others you encounter.
Make sure that you attend church on a weekly basis, not just a drop by visit when you feel like it or when you want to simply say that you went to church to sooth your conscience! Get involved in a ministry. Give your God given talents back to His house! Not only are you serving God when you come together in a corporate setting to give Him praise for keeping you another week, but you will also gain a sense of peace in your own life.
When you study the written scriptures in the Bible and hear that word confirmed in an anointed church service it gives you a way of comparing things in your life to God's words. It's amazing how much you will learn about yourself, your life, and your relationships by listening to God's words during church service. I can personally attest to this. When I first joined my church I was tore up from the floor up! But by studying and applying the preached word to my life over the years I can truly say that it was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. At church you will also be surrounded with others who are well rounded and can help you keep your faith charged.
Having faith in God means believing that he is working to make your life better and is helping you to find a purpose that works best for you. Talking to others such as family, friends, or coworkers who have faith in God can help you to gain a sense of faith as well. People who love the Lord usually have no problem sharing what He has done for them, they can talk about it all day! You'll be amazed at what you hear about how God's love
and their faith have affected all aspects of their life. Additionally, pray to God often because prayer changes things! God can hear everything you say, your concerns, your thoughts, and your fears.
Talk to God on a consistent basis. He loves us and wants us to have faith in Him. His spirit will help you to believe if you let Him. Tell God that you are having trouble with your faith and you would like help. God will provide you with the means to increase your faith if you ask him to. Just talk to God as you would a friend. He will listen and help you have faith. Matthew 21:22 “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
Over comer, without faith a man can do nothing; with it all things are possible. Know that fear ends where faith begins.
Be Optimistic; Be Open Minded; Be an Over comer!!
