The Supper, the Betrayal, The Death and the Resurrection ~ “What’s Love Got to do With it”?

Grace and Peace to you!

Today’s uplift: The Supper, the Betrayal, The Death and the Resurrection ~ “What’s Love Got to do With it”?

Easter, a time when we remember the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God! It is a story that has changed our lives forever, because it is the story of God's powerful love for each of us and the sacrifice He gave! We celebrate Jesus' resurrection on Easter Sunday, but there would be no resurrection without His suffering death on a cross and buried in a borrowed tomb!

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of the Christian faith. Without the resurrection, the belief in God's saving grace through Jesus is destroyed! When Jesus rose from the dead, He confirmed His identity as the Son of God and His work of atonement, redemption, reconciliation, and salvation.

Jesus was arrested, tried and found guilty of claiming to be a king. His body was hung on a cross between two thieves. But yet, even in His bloodied and broken form, there is a wondrous attraction, for “surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: …he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (vv. 4-5).

His death substituted for ours. He was the sacrificial “Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). This Lamb is none other than God the Son, who willingly “took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross” Phil 2:7-8

After his death, Jesus’ body was wrapped in linen clothes and placed in a tomb with a large stone rolled across the opening. On the third day, an early Sunday morning, Mary Magdalene and another Mary came to the tomb and found it empty. Sitting on the rolled away stone was an angel of the Lord who told them to not be afraid because Jesus had risen. As the women left to tell the disciples, Jesus met them and showed them his nail pierced hands.

Both the Old and the New Testament speak of Jesus being raised from death - Jesus testified of His resurrection before He died on the cross and his disciples witnessed his body after the resurrection. This is the short version of the events that lead to Jesus’s death, but without all of the above happening you and I would be left in our sinful state with no hope! Thank God for Jesus!

Overcomer, ONE MAN conquered death to bring life to all! That’s love! Happy Easter family!

Be Optimistic; Be Open Minded; Be an Over comer!!

Love Min. P.
